Jaime Ortega
Bachelor and Master in Mathematics from the U. de Concepción and PhD in Mathematical Sciences from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He is Full Professor of the Department of Mathematical Engineering and Principal Investigator of the Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM) at the University of Chile.
With more than 20 years in R&D projects in mining and applications of image processing and optimal design, he was director of the Imaging Laboratory of the CMM and is Principal Investigator and director of the P6 project “Sensorization and Remote Monitoring of Aquifers” of the Center for Water Technologies – CAPTA. He is currently Principal Investigator and in charge of the Digital Mining area of the Center for Mathematical Modeling, he is also coordinator of the Copernicus Project of the University of Chile at CMM, a project that develops the Satellite Data Repository provided by the Copernicus Program of the European Union (https://www.copernicus.eu) and co-director of the Satellite Imaging Group.

Jaime Ortega
Licenciado y Magister en Matemáticas de la U. de Concepción y Doctor en Ciencias Matemáticas de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Es Profesor Titular del Departamento de Ingeniería Matemática e Investigador Principal del Centro de Modelamiento Matemático (CMM) de la Universidad de Chile.
Con más de 20 años en proyectos de I+D en minería y aplicaciones de procesamiento de imágenes y diseño óptimo, fue director del Laboratorio de Imágenes del CMM y es Investigador Principal y director del proyecto P6 “Sensorización y Monitoreo Remoto de Acuíferos” del Centro de Tecnologías para el Agua – CAPTA. Actualmente es Investigador Principal y encargado del área de Minería Digital del Centro de Modelamiento Matemático, además es coordinador del Proyecto Copernicus de la Universidad de Chile en el CMM, proyecto que desarrolla el Repositorio de los Datos Satelitales provistos por el Programa Copernicus de la Unión Europea (https://www.copernicus.eu) y codirector del Grupo de Imágenes Satelitales.
